A young population
Cambourne's median age is 34, five years younger than the England and Wales average.

South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire
A young, fast-growing new town west of Cambridge, with thousands more homes and a new route into Cambridge on the way.
Why Cambourne
Cambourne didn't exist 30 years ago. Approved in 1996, it welcomed its first residents in 1999, and today around 11,100 people live there, with a median age of just 34. It's a young town that's still being built.
And it keeps growing. West Cambourne has permission for up to 2,350 more homes, Bourn Airfield is planned as a new village of around 3,500 homes, and the approved Cambourne to Cambridge route will link the town to Cambridge city centre, the railway station and the Biomedical Campus every 10 minutes.
